Out of the list of Artists our class had to select, I chose my favorite of them all: Aubrey Beardsley. I think that his style is elegant, clean, and full of incredible detail. I had not discovered this artist before this class and I am really grateful to have done so and been inspired to make something of my own. I think that Beardsley's brilliant imagination and spirituality shine through the use of patterns, use of space, and use of geometry within the frames of the poster. The sheer amount of time and patience that must have gone into each piece of art looks to have been really impressive. I would like to give myself more time in the future to spend a few weeks- maybe a month- completing just as intricate and detailed.
I tried to approach a conversation that isn't very easy for me to have with myself. Transitioning for everyone is a unique experience but the one thing in common is that it is one of the most difficult experiences that we might have throughout our entire life. The Tarot card 'The Magician' symbolizes the strength and determination one might have to take control of their lives. Butterflies are another form of symbolism I chose to include because of their phases of life from coming into their true from. I did some research online to find what other members of my community thought and have been finding happiness trying my best to connect with others despite fears of over exposing myself.
I really really love the line work, its really clean. Its very mystical, reminds me of the statue of liberty.
